Creamy Chicken Risotto

One of the foods my husband likes in Piatto is their chicken rissotto. It taste much like the chicken a la king I used to make but with extra more cream, so I tried to recreate it. The first time I made this, I couldn't find the Italian rice used for risotto, but last week I finally found one, although it was mixed with barley and some other grain it went better than the regular rice I used the first time.

This is how I made it:

1 lbs chicken fillet, cubed
3 tbsp butter
300 grams fresh buttoned mushroom, I think other mushroom will do better like fresh shitake
1 medium carrot cubed
300 ml heavy whipping cream
200 ml Nestle Cream
1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese or more
broccoli (optional)
1 cup risotto

1. Melt the butter and saute the mushroom until it caramelize. Remove from pan.
2. Add the chicken fillet, cook until well done then add back the mushroom and risotto. Add half a cup of water and then add the whipping cream and cream also the carrot. Turn the heat to low until the rice is cooked. Then add broccoli and cheese. Serve while hot.

Dress Making Part 2: Making Pattern

Once you have the measurements, you may have to divide it first before making a pattern which is equivalent to 1/4 of the size of your body.

I have here sample measurements

Shoulder - 14 1/2 / 2= 7 1/4
Back figure--15
Skirt length- 25
Bust- 1st- 34
          2nd- 35 1/2
          3rd- 29 1/2

Waist- 27 1/4 /4= 6 3/4
1st hips- 31/4= 7 3/4
2nd hips - 36 /4 = 9
Shoulder to bust point - from neck to bust point (1), empire area point(2), just above the waistline(3)
                1st --- 10 1/2
                2nd (empire)----13
                3rd--15 1/2
Bust distance- 6 1/2
Sleeve length- 6 1/2
Around arm- 11
Arm hole-16/ 1/2 /2= 8 1/4-2= 6 1/4
Neck- 6

Dress-Making Part 1: Taking Measurements

It is such a big privilege to meet a friend here who knows how to sew. To take advantage, I and some other friends asked her to teach us to sew and also to organize a community activity.

Our first project is to make hair caps for hospital patients. In the Kingdom, part of their culture is to have the women cover their hair. Being sick and helpless in the hospital of course doesn't make it easy. So we made some shower-cap-like- head cover.

I will be posting about that later. But for this post I would like to focus on taking body measurements.

So here are the following measurements we have to take:

Shoulder -
Back figure-- from the base of the neck to the waist line
Skirt length- from the waist line to the desired length of skirt
Bust- 1st- chest area
2nd- circumference aligned on the breast point
          3rd- the empire area

Waist
1st hips- usually 4" from the waist
2nd hips - 4" from the first hips
Shoulder to bust point - to be measured from base of the neck to the bust point
Bust distance- from bust point to bust point
Sleeve length- from the shoulder to desired length of sleeves
Around arm- desired circumference (looseness) on the end of sleeve
Arm hole-
Neck- from the base of the neck to the desired depth of the neckline.
